A. G. Gibson

A.G. Gibson, Jr., 83, passed away on April 19, 2021, in Calhoun City, MS. He was born on August 18, 1937 in Poinsett County, Ark, to Albert Grover Gibson, Sr. and Dessie Gibson.
A.G. started his career as a farmer for many years and also owned Gibson Paint Company. He also proudly served our country in the Army. He loved spending time on the lake crappie fishing, going on Lynn Casey's potato route and refinishing gun stocks with his long time friend Don Kiefer. He represented and served his community in several roles during his lifetime such as Calhoun County Justice Court Judge, past Mayor of Vardaman, Alderman for the Town of Derma and serving as a Municipal Court Judge. A.G. was also a member of Midway Baptist Church and a Shriner.

Those left to cherish A.G.'s memory are Kathryn Ann Gibson - wife, of Calhoun City, Gale (Tommy) Terry - daughter, of Crystal Springs, Lisa Gavathas - daughter, of Tallahassee, FL, Albert "Joe" (Amy Gerbig) Gibson - son, of Mobile, AL, Franklin (Wilma) Gibson - brother, of Jonesboro, AR, Terry Gibson - niece, of Jonesboro, AR, Al (Debbie) Gibson - nephew, of Brandon, Ryan (Natalie) McGehee - grandchild, Shannon (Nick) Ivy - grandchild, Lee (Kala) LeGrand - grandchild, Panajiotis Gavathas - grandchild, Martinos Gavathas - grandchild, and eight great-grandchildren.

A.G. is preceded in death by Albert Grover Gibson, Sr. - father, Dessie Gibson - mother, Nathan Dye - grandchild

The service for Mr. A.G. Gibson, Jr. will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 AM at Midway Cemetery with Bro. Al Gaspard officiating. Al Gibson, Nick Ivy, Lee LeGrand, Ryan McGehee, Walker McGehee and Tommy Terry will serve as pallbearers. Lynn Casey, Martinos Gavathas, Panagiotis Gavathas and Don Kiefer will serve as honorary pallbearers.
