Annie Ruth Potts Sharp,73, passed from this life on Monday, April 12, 2021 at her home in Oxford. Born on March 1, 1948 in Lafayette County, she was one of seven children born to the late Aurie Potts and Mary Clyde Joblin Potts.
Annie married Barney W. Sharp and built a wonderful life with him. This blessed union gave life three children, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren and many precious memories. She spent her days as a homemaker, always looking after the needs of her children and grandchildren. With a loving for sewing and skill to get it done, she turned many unique creations. Annie used her expert skills to piece together her daughter’s wedding dress. When she wasn’t stationed at her sewing machine she could be found tending to her beloved vegetable garden. As a member of New El Bethel Baptist Church, Annie hid the words of the Lord in her heart and cherished the gift of salvation He offered.
She is survived by her husband, Barney W Sharp of Oxford; two sons: Barry Sharp of Oxford; Scott Sharp of Oxford; one daughter, Karen ( Ron) Wallace of Oxford; seven grandchildren: Meghan Sharp, Madison Sharp, John Brady Sharp, Courtney Sharp Giles, Tyler Scott Sharp, Lyndsey Springer and Daniel Edwards; five great grandchildren: Vera Springer, Brandon Harris, Ava Harris, Thomas Giles and Riley Giles.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents Aurie Potts and Mary Clyde Joblin Potts; five brothers: Alvie Potts, Newell Potts, Bill Potts, Dooley Potts, and James Potts; one sister, Mary Lou Potts.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral service remembering her life will take place on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Snow officiating. Jimmy Gregory, Richard Harris, Ben Potts, Ken Potts, James Sharp, and Donnie Woodward will carry Annie to rest in Webb Cemetery. Robert Barbee and Frank Brown will serve as honorary pallbearers.
