Barbara Ann Cain Lantrip, 90, of Banner, died Friday, July 24, 2026, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born October 6, 1935, one of nine children to Hollis Edward and Ethel Susie Leachman Cain.
A longtime employee of Glenn Slacks, she was also a caregiver in later years. She was a member of Sarepta Baptist Church, and Barbara was known as the cook of the family.
She is survived by her children, Lanny (Celia) Hillhouse, JR (Jennifer) Hillhouse, Fredia Hillhouse Hardin, all of Bruce; grandchildren, Colby Hillhouse, Abby (Sam) Rea; Chris (Stephanie) Hillhouse, Jeremy (Jenna) Hillhouse, Kandy (Dean) Mann, Misty (Geron) Gill, Wendy (Tyler) Johnson; Warren (Meagan) Hillhouse, Wes (Jacy) Hillhouse, Josh Heath and Stevie Heath; 19 great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and her sister, Carolyn Hallman.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruthel Norwood, Johnnie Weeks, Celestine Dye, Katie Goodwin, Martha Covington; brothers, Kenneth Cain, Charles Cain; son, Steve Hillhouse, and husband, Roscoe Lantrip.
Her visitation will be Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Smith and Bro. Craig McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Memory Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tommy Cain, Randy, Cain, Gary Paul Adams, and grandsons, Chris Hillhouse, Jeremy Hillhouse, Colby Hillhouse, Warren Hillhouse, Wes Hillhouse, and Josh Heath.
The staff of Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lantrip family as they walk through this season of loss. We ask that you keep them, in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn the passing of their loved one.
