Barbara Ann Melton

Barbara Ann Melton of Paris passed away on November 21 ^st , 2018 at her home. Born on March 22 ^nd , 1945 to Morris Nathan Babb and Flora Ivylene Wright Babb in Water Valley, she was 73.
Barbara had a career in the Health Care Industry as a Medical Records Administrator, having worked for Calhoun County Hospital, Lafayette Hospital, Baptist Healthcare, Laguna Medical Systems, and Parkview Medical Center. After graduating from Taylor High School with the Class of 1962, Barbara would continue her education, graduating from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She was a member of Delay Baptist Church, and a member of the Loosa Schooner chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Barbara leaves behind her Husband of 55 years, Riley Eddie Melton Sr. of Paris, whom she married the day of her 18 ^th birthday on March 22 ^nd , 1963. Also left behind are Son, Riley Eddie (Amy) Melton, Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama, Granddaughter, Megan Melton (Hunter) Young of Paris, and two Great-Grandchildren.
There was an evening visitation with the family held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS on Friday, November 23 ^rd , 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service honoring Barbara’s life was held in Parker Memorial’s chapel on Saturday, November 24 ^th , 2018 at 11:00 am. Brother Blaine Davis led family and friends in prayers as the Officiant.
Barbara was laid to eternal rest following funeral services on the afternoon of November 24 ^th , 2018 in Paris Cemetery. Pallbearers included Danny Allen, Joe Babb, John Babb, James Jones, Chris Melton, Corey Melton, and Jason Sandefer.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; Brother John Babb; Sister Amy Sandefer; and Grandaughter Kimberly Melton.
