Bernice Lucille Hanley Collums,85, of Courtland passed from this life on Friday, December 03, 2021 surrounded by family. Born on July 15, 1936 in Houlka, she was a daughter to the late Levi Hanley and Mandy Idene Mooneyham Hanley.
Lucille spent her days as a homemaker looking after the needs of family. She found joy in keeping her mind busy by practicing a multitude of hobbies. With a patience mind and steady hand Lucille was an expert at quilting and loved placing the intricate patches together that created a tangible memory. Like most southern women, she developed the skills to cook over a lifetime and knew her way around the kitchen, especially when came to baking. Aside from her homemaking skills, she enjoyed the serenity found not only in fishing but also in solving a word search puzzle. Lucille cherished and adored her family, merely spending time with meant more to her than any material possession. Although she has departed from our lives, her memory will hold a special place in the hearts of his friends and family.
She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence; two sons: Michael (Pam) Collums of Gore Springs; Clifton “Beau” (Karen) Collums of Pocahontas, Tennessee; four daughters: Lola (Ronnie) Boatman of Grenada; Donna Wilson of Courtland; Sheila Barlow of Batesville; Karen (Phillip) Black of Gore Springs; twenty grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Collums; parents, Levi Hanley and Mandy Idene Hanley and a daughter, Elizabeth Havens.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 05, 2021 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM The funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Monday, December 06, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Davidson officiating. Stacy Black, Tracy Black, Jerry “Cat Daddy” Brewer, Matthew Bright, Brian Cain, and Payton Collums will carry her to rest in Collums Cemetery. Jimmy Black, Hunter Collums, and Josh Young will serve as honorary pallbearers.
