Betty June Box

Betty June Box, 92, of Bruce, departed from this life on Monday, November 21, 2022, at her home in Bruce. She was born on November 26, 1929, in Herculaneum, MO to the late Jewel Milton Russell and Ruby Long Russell.

Betty spent her days as a homemaker looking after the needs of her family. Betty also worked in the school cafeteria and taught Sunday School for many seasons of her life at Bruce First Baptist Church. In her spare time, Betty could be found working in her garden tending to her flowers or reading. She also loved to be in the kitchen cooking and she loved her grandchildren. Betty was a member of Bruce First Baptist Church. Although she has departed from our presence, Betty’s memory will forever be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.

She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence: son, Rickey (Tracey) Box of Bruce, MS; daughter, June (Rowland) Smith of Bruce, MS; eight grandchildren: Misty Goodson, Shawn Shepard, Kelly Box, Cassidy Box, Cody Box, Alex Box, Barrett Box, and Ashlyn Box. Twelve great-grandchildren: Forrest Hamilton, Hudson Hamilton, Sydney Stephan, Madison May, Sarah Erwin, Keegan Barefield, Gauge May, Sophie Shepard, Caden Box, Hunter Dalton Box, Slade Booth Box, and Brennan Bailey Box. Three great-great-grandchildren: Zaiden Hamilton, Austin Cole Hamilton, and Beau Hamilton.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Jewel Milton Russell and Ruby Long Russell; spouse, Roy Eugene Box; grandchild, Jeremy Box.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. The funeral service honoring Betty's life will take place on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce with Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Keegan Barefield, Barrett Box, Cassidy Box, Cody Box, Forrest Hamilton, Hudson Hamilton, Gauge May, and Shawn Shepard will carry Betty to rest in Bruce Cemetery.
