Betty Jean Pennington, 85, passed this life on October 25, 2017 at North Delta Hospice House, Southaven, MS., after an extended illness. She was a born in Banner, MS on June 25, 1932 to the late parents of Gladys Leroy Massey and Julia Ann Fullerton Massey. She was a very hard working lady who stayed busy being a homemaker, school bus driver, and an elderly care giver. Betty was a member of Old Field Methodist Church, and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was past President of Salem Memorial Cemetery and past secretary of Spring Creek Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Lee Pennington, parents, Gladys Leroy Massey and Julia Ann Fullerton Massey, two sisters, Marie Chrestman and Mary Helms and two brothers, Babe C. Massey and James Robert “Bill” Massey.
Those left to honor her memory are her son, Tom Pennington “Linda”, Nesbit, MS; two sisters, Lou Hall, Bruce, MS and Sue Hardin, Bruce, MS; a grandson, Clark Pennington, Nesbit, MS.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Bro. Darrell Logan will be officiating and the burial will follow in Bruce Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jeffrey Hall, Ricky Hall, Kenny Hardin, Clark Pennington, Mark Vanlandingham and Nelson Vanlandingham.
