Billy Wayne Alford, of Corinth, MS, passed away at his home on February 14, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on July 1, 1944, in Vardaman, Mississippi, Billy dedicated his life to serving others and nurturing the bonds of family and community.

Billy faithfully served for 37 years in the Social Security Administration, where he was known for his unwavering commitment to helping those in need. His tireless work ethic and compassion left a lasting impact on many lives.

A proud member of The Church of The Crossroads in Corinth, MS, Billy was a man of deep faith whose values were reflected in his kindness and generosity. He cherished the moments spent outdoors, finding joy in fishing and hunting, activities that fostered his love for nature and provided cherished memories with family and friends.

Billy was an avid supporter of Mississippi State University, a passion he shared enthusiastically with his family. Westerns filled his evenings, and he found great joy in attending his grandchildren's events, always cheering them on with pride and admiration.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Whitt Alford of Corinth, MS; his daughter, Andrea (Keith) Suitor of Corinth, MS; his son, Timothy (Joanna Hollyfield) Alford of Amory, MS; and his cherished grandchildren, Lauren Alford, Emily Alford, Olivia (Brant) Reader, Jordan (Chloe) Suitor, Adelyne Suitor, Jake Alford, and Colton Alford. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit and will remember him fondly.

Billy was preceded in death by his mother,  Margaret Penick Alford, Oscar Merrill Alford, brother, Anthony Alford, and a son, Paul Gregory Alford.

Graveside services will be held on February 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Midway Cemetery in Vardaman, MS, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Billy's life. His memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In this time of reflection, we remember a man whose life was a testament to love, dedication, and a passion for family. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through all those he touched.
