Billy Gene Colbert

Billy Gene Colbert, 82 of Vardaman, Mississippi died on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point, MS.
Born Tuesday, May 10, 1932 in Tyler, Texas, he was the son of the late Eugene Colbert and Nora May Staples
Colbert. Also preceded by two daughters, Damita Valentine and Nora Anderson, a sister, Geneva Benson, three
brothers, Johnny Colbert, Charles Colbert, and Tommy Colbert.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a self-employed paint contractor, and a member of Midway
Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Betty Jo Towery Colbert of Vardaman, MS. a son, Samuel E. Colbert of Vardaman, Step-son,
Robert (Linda)Edwards of South Korea, two daughters, Karen (Hugh) Haley of Murchison, TX and Gina (Kevin
M.) Hall of Vardaman, MS, two sisters, Earline Smith of Tyler, TX and Pat Martin of Longview, TX; 16 grand children;
3 great grand children.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Adam
Gaspard officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Vardaman, MS.
Pallbearers will be Billy Barfield, Kevin Hall, Mike Harrell, Bobby Inman, David Marshall, and Robert Wiggs. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin C. Hall, and Wayne Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 3, 2015, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, ,
Vardaman, Mississippi.
