Billy Laderal Lee

Billy Laderal Lee of Bruce passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 surrounded by loved ones at his home. Billy was born in the Rocky Mount community on March 4, 1946 to parents Elton Lee and Myrtle Logan Lee. He was 72.

As the owner of Billy’s Place Recreation Room, Billy enjoyed the fellowship he shared with friends by shooting pool, playing cards, or just having conversations about the latest sports news. An avid New York Yankees fan, Billy was devoted to sports in general, which led him to coach Softball and Little League Baseball. A lot of his time was spent in the Bruce Park where he invested in the youth, teaching sportsmanship and ensuring that each member of his team played to the best of their ability. A veteran who served for over 6 years in the Mississippi National Guard, Billy was also a devoted member of Westside Baptist Church. He will be missed by many who’s lives he touched in some way.

Billy is survived by his Wife, Becky Carr Lee of Bruce; Sons Billy Chad (Traci) Lee of Bruce, Jeffery Brent Lee of Bruce, and Bucky Dent (Presley) Lee of Bruce; Sisters Barbara Turner of Bruce and Ann (Hiram) McKibben of Bruce; and Grandchildren Joseph Braiden Lee, Aubry Ellen Lee, and Codi Elizabeth Lee.

There will be a visitation with the family on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service celebrating Billy’s life will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 starting at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home. Brother Darrell Logan will officiate, with Brother Bobby Cobb assisting. Brad Logan will deliver a eulogy.

Billy will be laid to eternal rest immediately following funeral services, with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry Lee, Lance Lee, Landon Lee, Tim McCormick, Tony McCormick, Chris Smith, Craig Smith, Sammy Turner, and Tracy Turner. In addition, Larry Blackwelder, Jerry Inmon, Robert Edward Oakley, Dr. Willie Wells, Andy Fortner, Brad Hensley, Colton Lee, Silas Lee, Jason McCormick, Brandon McKibben, Chipper Nix, Dustin (Dut) Swords, and Matt Swords will all serve as honorary pallbearers for Billy.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; Brother Elton Leon Lee; and Sisters Jimmie Nell McCormick and Frances Jo McCormick.
