Vardaman, MS. – Bobby “Bob” Wayne Hollingsworth, 80, entered into his heavenly home from N.M.M.C. in Tupelo on Sunday, February 25, 2018. He was born January 23, 1938, in Vardaman, he was the son of the late Thomas Lee Hollingsworth and the late Claire Spratlin Hollingsworth. Bob was a member of Vardaman First Baptist Church where he was a deacon emeritus. He was very civic minded and desired to serve his town, community and county in any way to help promote our county. Bob served on the board of directors for Hillcrest Hospital for several years before retiring. After graduating from Tunica High School in 1956 he served in the U.S. Navy for several years. Bob was a corporate meat director for Malone & Hyde and Fleming Corporation for over 33 years. If Bob was not with his family and work, he did enjoy golfing with his friends and acquaintances.
Survivors are his wife of 59 years – Patsy Blue Hollingsworth, Vardaman; a daughter, Patty Ramage (Bro. Mike), Tillatoba; a son, Mark Hollingsworth, Bowling Green, KY; sisters, Grace Young, Houston, Fannie Lou Swaim, Alexandria, LA; a brother, Jimmy Hollingsworth (Ann), Hernando and his grandchildren, Ashley McClain (Justin), Brandon and Kyle Ramage (Claire), Raleigh, NC.
Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lee and Claire Hollingsworth, his sisters, Virginia Morgan, Myrl Armstrong, and his brothers, Milton and Ralph Hollingsworth.
Visitation and services will be Tuesday, February, 27, 2018 at Vardaman First Baptist Church with visitation being from 12:00 p.m. at the church. Bro. Mike Ramage will be officiating with Bro. James Towery assisting. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Vardaman.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Diaz, Greg Hollingsworth, Jimmy Hollingsworth, Leslie Huffman, John Richard Lancaster and Clay Spencer. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Deacons of Vardaman First Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vardaman First Baptist Church, flower fund or the general fund at P.O. Box 173, Vardaman, MS. 38878.
