Bobby Murphree

Bobby  Dean Murphree, 83 of Houlka, Mississippi passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 27, 2017,  at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Born Wednesday, September 27, 1933, in the Reid Community. Bobby was a retired truck driver and dispatcher. He was a member and deacon of Schoona Valley Baptist Church. Bobby loved spending time with his family, camping trips, and attending the National Singing Quartet Convention. He was a 1951 graduate of Houlka High School.

He will be greatly missed by his  son, Larry Dean (Sandra) Murphree of Houlka, MS; daughters, Nanci (Joel) Gray of Tupelo, MS and Bobbie Gail Cornelius of Oneonta, AL; brother, Billy (Deloires) Murphree of Senatobia, MS; sister, Virginia Ann (Dennis) Howell of Senatobia, MS;  grandchildren, Bobby Joseph (Kayla) Gray, Daniel Justin (Mallory) Murphree, Tiffany Gail (Daniel) Denton, Deanna Carol (Aaron) Myhand, Brody Michael (Drew) Cornelius;  great grandchildren, Alauna  Myhand, Garrison Myhand, Brady Murphree, Rowan Gray, Hunter Gray, Gray Denton, Trudie Denton and Sarah Caroline Denton.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Williams Murphree, father Dee Murphree, Mother Ethel Odell Brown Murphree, brother, Charles Dee Murphree.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jackie Gray officiating and Bro. Linn Hughes assisting, Interment will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Vardaman, MS.

Pallbearers will be: Brody Cornelius, Daniel Denton, Joseph Gray, Justin Murphree, Aaron Myhand, Chris Williams and Mike Williams

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476 hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
