Bobby Gene Young, 79 of Vardaman, Mississippi died on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Calhoun Health Services Hospital in Calhoun City, Mississippi.
Born Saturday, July 4, 1936 in Minter City, Mississippi, he was the son of the late James Young and the late Inez Fleming Young. He was the husband of Greta Harville Young.
He was a retired forman for Natchez Trace Electric Power Assn..
He served in the Navy.
He was a member of First Baptist Church Vardaman.
Surviving are son, James Andrew Young of Starkville, MS, daughters, Jeanette Morgan and husband Thomas of Starkville, MS and Suzanne Winter of Vardaman, MS, sisters, Barbara Ramage and husband Bannie of Walls, MS and Claudine Haddock of Olive Branch, MS. Grand Children, Thomas Bo Morgan, III and wife Mariah, Lisa Andrews
and husband, Michael, Amber Morgan, Kera Young, and Bobby Justin Morgan, Great Grand Child, Aurilla Morgan, and two future Great Grandchildren, Glen Michael Andrews, and Henry Morgan.
He was predeceased by brother, James Walker Young.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Vardaman First Baptist Church with Bro. Melvin Faulkner officiating with Bro Archie Goodwin and Bro. Daniel Thompson asissting. Interment will be in Pine Crest Memorial
Garden, Calhoun City, MS.
Pallbearers will be: Michael Andrews, Bobby Justin Morgan, Jimmy Lee Morris, Ricky Parker, Ronald Parker, Sonny Parker, Dickie Sisk, and Kevin Stafford.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Natchez Trace Employees both current and retired.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, Vardaman, Mississippi. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital501 Saint Jude Place Memphis, TN 37501.
