Bobbye D. McCormick, 82 of Bruce, Mississippi died on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital
in Oxford, Mississippi.
Born Wednesday, March 2, 1932 in Palmer, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Loring Tharpe and Lucy Idenia Self Tharpe.
She was a retired group home manager from North MS Regional Center where she worked from 1983 until 1993.
She was a loving devoted mother, friend and wife, a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband Melvis L. McCormick of Bruce, MS. a son, James (Cheryl) Harrison of Phoenix, AZ, two
daughters, Patricia Moorhead of Oxford, MS and Juana Susan (Jessie) Morris of Water Valley, MS, step-son, Tony (Judy) McCormick of Oxford, MS, three step daughters,
Cynthia (Ricky) Cowsert and Lisa (Tim) Swords both of Bruce, MS and Sandra (Dr. Dennis) Wright of Tupelo, MS.
brother, Clive Tharpe of Houlka, MS, sister, Betty Sue Cannon of Calhoun City, MS. Fourteen Grandchildren,
Sixteen Great-grandchildren, and two Great-great grandchildren. Six Step grandchildren, and Five Step Great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Dr. James S. Harrison, by brothers, Thomas Ed Tharpe and
Carlton Tharpe, step-son Tommy Harrison.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with
the Bro. Wayne Cobb and Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Interment will be in Bruce Cemetery, Bruce, MS. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Harrison, Joshua Harrison, Brad Hensley, Chris Moorhead, Matt Moorhead, Jacob Winkler, Nicholas Winkler, and Randall Winkler.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476 hwy
9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
