Bro. Billy Q. McCord, of Bruce, Mississippi died at Calhoun Health Services in Calhoun City, Mississippi on
Monday, July 14, 2015
Born Saturday, March 30, 1940 in Shady Groove Community, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Vard McCord
and the late Ila Edwards McCord. He was the husband of Ann Thomas McCord.
He was a graduate of University of Mississippi and was a retired Assistant Superintendent for Desoto County
Schools .
He was a Pastor for Shady Groove Methodist Church. Community minded Bro. McCord served as president of
Calhoun County School Board, Sons of the American Revolution, Mississippi Conference of United Methodist, Bruce
Rotary Club, and served as a Deputy Sheriff for Desoto County.
Surviving are sons, John Ray McCord and Michael Wayne McCord, daughters, Cindy Donaldson and Amy Rebecca McCord Havens, brother, Charles McCord and wife Peggy of Banner, MS, sister, Peggy Higginbotham and husband Sherman of Banner, MS. Granddaughter Rebecca Leigh Anne McCord who Bro. Billy And Ann Raised.
He was predeceased by son, William McCord.
A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rex Wilburn
officiating with Rev. Jimmy Barnes, Dr. Daniel Hathorne, Rev. Lannis May, and Rev. Harold Robinson assisting .
Interment will be in Memory Memorial Garden, Bruce, MS.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Parker Memorial Funeral
Home, 476 hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be: Eddie Bollinger, Billy Howell, Chris McCord, Mike Moore, Van Peden, and Ricky Tramel
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Bruce Rotary Club, S.A.R. Members, and Shady Grove Methodist Church members.
