Dr. Bryan Scarbrough

Dr. Bryan Thornton Scarbrough, 84 of Randolph, Mississippi died on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Sanctuary Hospice House
in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Born Monday, September 21, 1931 in Vardaman, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Curtis Scarbrough and the late
Flossie Thornton Scarbrough. He was the husband of Jewel Ledford Scarbrough.
He was a graduate of Millsap's College and earned his Masters degree then his Doctrine of divinity at Emory University. He
served as a United Methodist Minister all over the state of Mississippi for over 50 years.
He served as a Chaplain in the Navy.
He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sons, Samuel Bryan Scarbrough and wife Tonya Ann of Sarepta, MS, Steven Thornton Scarbrough and wife
Tonya of Randolph, MS, John Kenneth Oliver and wife Madeleine of Jackson, MS and Michael T. Oliver and wife Darlene of
Tupelo, MS, sister, Doris Ferguson of Calhoun City, MS, grand children, Maranda Rena Scarbrough Robbins, Mallory Grace
Scarbrough, Isabella Rayne Scarbrough, Rochelle Annette Lastor, Mikey Lastor, and Angelena Oliver, 6 great grand
daughters.
Preceded in death by two grand children, John Bryan Oliver and Jason Michael Oliver.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Bruce United Methodist Church with Bro. Lannis May officiating Dr.
Jimmy Barnes and Bro. Harold Robinson will be assisting. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Vardaman, MS.
Pallbearers will be: Steven Donaldson, Edmond Hellums, Larry Hellums, Mikey Laster, John Oliver, and Mike Oliver.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Fellow Methodist Ministers, and all his fellow bird hunting buddies.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 4, 2016, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476
hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
