Burrell Newberry Brown, II, 87 of Vaiden, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Greenwood
Leflore County Hospital in Greenwood, Mississippi.
Born Saturday, August 10, 1929, he was the son of the late Burrell Newberry Brown, I, and the late Mittie Scrivener Brown.
He was the husband of Mamie Opal Turner Brown.
He was a retired chemistry and science teacher at Wood Community College. Mr. Brown loved spending time with his family and
taking them on family trips. He loved making people laugh by telling jokes and making wise cracks. Community minded he
received numerous awards as a volunteer at Vicksburg National Military Park, Bandelier National Monument and, the Blue
Ridge Parkway. In his younger years he was active with the Boy Scouts.
Surviving are sons Burrell Newberry Brown, III (Vickie) of Ocean Springs, MS, Mike Brown of Atlanta, GA, Jerry Brown of
Vicksburg, MS and Tim Brown of Vicksburg, MS; daughter, Rachael Bolick of Coffeeville, MS; sister, Alice Lee Cox of
Vaiden, MS; 9 grand children; 10 great-grand children; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers Dudley Brown and Marvin Brown, and sister Janie Johnson.
A Funeral service will be held at
1:30 PM
on Wednesday
at Midway Baptist Church in Vaiden, MS. with the Bro. Finis Beauchamp
officiating. The family will recieve friends from
1:00 until 1:30
