Carl Samuel Baker

Carl Baker, 66, of Vardaman passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at his home in Vardaman, MS. Carl Baker was born on October 14, 1956, in Vardaman, MS, to the late Walter "Pete" Baker and Jennie Lynn Chandler.

Carl spent many seasons of life as a farmer tending to the land until his retirement. He loved tractors. Carl will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.

Carl is survived by his wife, Cathy Ann Williams Baker of Vardaman; two daughters: Melissa Allred of Vardaman; Lila Evans of Greensboro, NC; son, Lee (Lawanda) Baker of Mantee; three sisters: Peggy (Sidney) Parker of Calhoun City; Sandra Johnson of Houlka; Brenda  Lollar of Houston; nine grandchildren: Leah Baker, Jennifer Baker, Luke Allred, and six others. He also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Baker and Jennie Chandler; daughter, Shawna Coleman; two brother-in-laws: James Johnson and Pete Lollar.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman, MS. The funeral service celebrating Carl's life will take place on Monday, November 21, 2022, in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman at 2:00 PM with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM. Bro. Richard Shackleford will be officiating. Luke Allred, Nick McGreger, J.C. Montroy, Keith Parker, Brandon Williams, and Jaylon Williams will carry Carl to rest in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Thomas Jenkins, Parker Terry, and Chris Terry will serve as honorary pallbearers.
