Carlene Goodson

Carlene Oliver Goodson, 90, of Calhoun City, MS passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Baptist Calhoun Nursing Facility on February 25, 2017. She was born October 30, 1926 in the New Liberty Community near Vardaman. She was a daughter of John F. (Jonnie) Oliver and Theda (Thedie) Adams Oliver. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Raif Talmadge Goodson.

Carlene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Calhoun City since July 7, 1958. She worked at Kellwood Company for forty plus years. She was a wonderful seamstress and cook. She loved to work in her yard and spend time with her friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include: Daughters Beverly Davidson (Kenneth) of Birmingham, AL. Christi Brown (Eddie) of Calhoun City, MS Granddaughters, Elizabeth Hathorne and Kathryn Hathorne of Oxford, MS Step Grandsons, Davis Brown and Cal Brown of Calhoun City, MS

She was proceeded in death by one brother Velton Oliver, two sisters Opie Jean Malone and Beatrice Galloway, a daughter Debbie Harbin, and one grandson Tyler Jones.

Visitation will be at Parker Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 1 till 3. The funeral will begin at 3:00. Graveside services will be at New Gauley Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Bill Malone, Roger Dale Goodson, David Spivey, Roncie Hardin, Davis Brown, and Cal Brown.
