Carole Jean Tims, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson after a brief illness. She was born July 6, 1938 in Bruce to the late parents of Rufus Burnham and Shirley Mooneyham Burnham.
Carole Jean was an active life long member of Bruce United Methodist Church where she served as church organist and pianist for many years. She loved to be of ministry in the church also serving as a Sunday School Teacher, singing in the church choir and the Methodist Women’s organization. She was a retired account’s clerk for Weyerhaeuser Company in Bruce.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Burnham and Shirley Mooney Ham Burnham, her beloved husband, Joe Emmitt Tims and a brother Billy Keith Burnham.
Those left to cherish Carol Jean’s memory are her daughters, Karen Jo (Emad) Al Turk, Ridgeland, MS, Tammy (Kent) Moore, Philadelphia; son, Scott (Myra) Tims, Grenada; brother, Rev. Bob (Janet) Burnham, West Memphis, AR; grandchildren, Amanda (Sterling) Dahl, Sarah (Brantley) Ravencraft, Tyler Moore, Olivia Moore, Tucker Tims and Trevor Tims; great grandchildren, Sutton Dahl, Hayes Dahl, Presley Ravencraft and Harper Ravencraft.
Visitation will be Monday, July 28, 2025 from 10:00A.M. until 11:00A.M. A funeral service honoring Carole Jean’s life will also follow at 11:00A.M. in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Corban officiating. Burial will be in Memory Memorial Garden.
Pallbearers for Carol Jean will be Mac Burnett, Michael Cook, Herbert Dickson, Bill Embry, Steve King, Danny Massey and Ricky Odom.
