Bruce-Charles Edward Bennett, 78, passed from this life on September 14, 2017 at his home. He was born December 10, 1938 in Bruce, MS. Charles was a active member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School for many years and was a past song leader for over fifty years. His passion was gardening, hunting and listening to his beagles run rabbits. He was a good provider fo his family working as a carpenter, contractor and cattle farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Lillian Ferguson Bennett, three brothers, R.L. Bennett, Clardis Bennett and Billy Bennett, granddaughter, Kara Thomas and a great granddaughter, Lakyn Burt.
Survivors are his wife for over sixty four years, Frances Green Bennett, Bruce, MS; two daughters, Viki Kilgo "Tommy", Bruce, MS, Patty Swanson"Roger", Bruce, MS: two sons, Jeff Bennett "Linda", Bruce, MS, Joe Bennett"Lisa", Bruce, MS; three sisters, Nancy Barefield"Smokey", Bruce, Ms, Renee Hardy, Bruce, MS, Kathy Davis"Teddy", Louisville, MS; nine grandchildren, Brian Thomas, Chris Bennett, Jeremy Bennett, Nichole McGreger, Josh Bennett, Jesse James, Jarrett Bennett, Kayla Clanton and Erin Beth Earnest; and fifteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00. His funeral service will be held will be Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Little and Bro. Joey Hamilton officiating with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Those serving as pallbearers are Chris Bennett, Jarrett Bennett, Jeremy Bennett, Josh Bennett, Jay Clanton, Will Earnest, Jesse James, Sammy McGreger and Brian Thomas.
