Charles Albert Cumberland, 76 of Big Creek, Mississippi died on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Calhoun County Nursing Home in
Calhoun City, Mississippi.
Born Thursday, March 21, 1940 in Meridian, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Norman Earnest Cumberland and Ruby
Hazel Pilgrim Cumberland. He was the husband of Gayle Clark Cumberland.
He was a graduate of Calhoun City High School Class of 1959 and Retired from Heatcraft where he was a machine
operator, and a member of Derma Baptist Church. He served in The U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Gayle Clark Cumberland of Big Creek, MS. Mother Hazel Cumberland of Calhoun City, MS. daughter,
Crystal (Tony) Lester of Starkville, MS, brother, Robert (Jo) Cumberland of Calhoun City, MS.
He was predeceased by his father, Norman Earnest Cumberland, daughter, Paige Cumberland, brother, Sammy
Cumberland, sister, Ann Threadgill.
A Funeral service will be at 3:30 PM on Saturday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Elder Tony Lester
officiating. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery,
Pallbearers will be Chester Ray Dye, Kermit Dye, Toby Dye, Kenny Langford, Don Ward, and Jerry Ward.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476
hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
