Charles Howe, 77 of Calhoun City peacefully departed from this world on March 31, 2024, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. He was born on July 30, 1946, in Ontario California, to the late Cleo Robert Howe and Helen Covington Howe.

Throughout his life, Charles demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment. He served in the U.S. Marines Airwing Division, achieving the rank of SGT during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Charles pursued a career as an electrician in the sawmill industry, working diligently at Weyerhaeuser as an electrician for many years.

Charles cherished time spent with his family, leaving behind his loving wife Ramona; daughter Kristi (Duste) Gore of Calhoun City; sons Kevin Howe of Calhoun City, Ernie (Charlene) Gordon of Pittsboro, and Mitchell (Antoinette) Gordon of Yukon, OK. He was also a proud grandfather to Kobe Brice Poynor and Duste Katyanna Gore; sisters Ann Patterson of Perryton, TX, and Kathryn (Steve) Bryant of Pittsboro; and brother, David (Lynn) Howe of Jacksonville, FL.

Active in his community, Charles was a dedicated member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, a former firefighter with the Calhoun City Volunteer Fire Department, and also a valued part of the Calhoun City Rotary Club.

To honor his memory, a public viewing will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce on April 3, 2024, at 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 pm. with Bro. Marlon Long officiating. The burial service will take place at Bethlehem Cemetery in Calhoun City, MS, that same day. Carlton Baker, Steve Bryant, David Howe, Joey Howe, Barney Wade and Clay Wade will serve as pallbearers. Jim Cole, Tommy Collins, Richard Freelon, Dale Hayes, Edmond Hellums, and Tom Jennings will serve as honorary pallbearers.
