Christi Story

Christi Vanlandingham Story, 51, of Bruce suddenly passed from this life on November 22, 2020, in Water Valley, Mississippi. Born on February 8, 1969, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, Christi was a daughter to Helen Vanlandingham and the late Richard Vanlandingham.

Christi was a 1987 graduate of Bruce High School. She spent many days of her life looking after the elderly and children as a care giver. Christi enjoyed collecting T-Shirts of all varieties and wearing flip-flops no matter the season or reason. Growing up on the best years in music, 1970’s and 1980’s, Christi identified with rock and country genres and sang along with the radio often. With great skill, Christi knew her way around the kitchen and never missed an opportunity to cook. Although Christi has departed from our presence she will be greatly missed, but always remembered for the helping hand she extended to others.

Christi leaves behind a loving family to carry her memory in their hearts: husband Joey Story, one daughter Kennedy Story, mother Helen Vanlandingham, and one brother Charlie Vanlandingham.

Christi was preceded in death by her father Richard Vanlandingham.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The funeral service remembering Christi’s life will take place on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce at 2:00 PM with Bro. Eric Payne officiating.  Perry Bailey, Bob Brown, Rob Langston, Michael Lee, Charlie Vanlandingham, and Cody Weeks will carry Christi to rest in Bruce Cemetery.
