Connie Thomas

Connie Faye Waldo Thomas of Bruce passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at her home in Bruce. Born on March 28, 1960 to Andrew J. Waldo and Edna French Waldo in Tutwiler, MS, she was 58.

Connie enjoyed hobbies that involved Elvis, going out to eat, and activities that kept her hands busy such as crafts and crocheting. Perhaps the one activity she enjoyed most was babysitting. In addition to her family, “Miss Connie” leaves behind many children in Bruce and the surrounding area whom will always remember the attention and kindness she readily shared while helping parents start building the foundations of a happy childhood.

Including the many children who will remember “Miss Connie”, she leaves behind Nieces Alley (Jake) Haire of Bruce, Rhonda (Denise Smith) Waldo of Mercer, TN, Schawn Waldo of Batesville, April Waldo of Pontotoc, Amy Light of Doddsville, and Cindy Robinson of Batesville; Nephews Cliff (Jennifer) Waldo of Coffeeville, James Waldo of Siler City, NC, Jackie Waldo of Nesbit, Jason (Nicole) Waldo of Calhoun City, Richie Carpenter of Indianola, Shane Carpenter of Doddsville, and Chuck Cole of Batesville, Ryan (Angel) Thomas, and their three sons, A.J., Michael, and Kai.; Sister Annie Ruth Cole of Crowder; and Brother Jack Waldo of Bruce.

There will be a visitation with the family on Thursday, January 17, 2019 starting at 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. There will be a funeral service celebrating Connie’s life following visitation starting at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Brother David Haggerty will lead services as officiant.

Following the funeral service, Connie will be laid to rest in the cemetery of Parker Memorial Funeral Home. Serving the family as active pallbearers will be Jason Adams, Shane Carpenter, Grady Carter, Danny Harrelson, Ryan Thomas, Cliff Waldo, and Jason Waldo. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob Haire, Corey Harrellson.

Connie was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband Arthur Thomas; Sisters Helen Smith and Patricia Coker; Brothers Toby Waldo, Ricky Waldo, and Sammy Waldo; father and mother in-law, Doyle and Ethlyne Thomas an brother in-law, Jackie Thomas and nephew, Michael Thomas. Nieces Debbie Carter, Tina Bradshaw, Peggy Cole, and Laura Cole; and Nephew Chris Smith.
