Corina Estelle Hughes

Corina Estelle Hughes, 96, of Bruce departed from this life on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Panola Medical Center in Batesville, MS. Corina was born on January 23, 1926 in Bruce, MS to the late Clarence Murphree and Donnie Lancaster Murphree.

Corina was best known for her love of caring for her flowers and serving actively within her church at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Bruce Mississippi. She loved life to the fullest and possessed a lifetime of joyful relationships with friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Frank Hughes; her parents, Clarence Murphree and Donnie Lancaster Murphree; four daughters: Mary Ann Dickey, Dawnie Mae Hughes, Linda Faye Hughes, and Shirley Jean Hughes; son-in-law, Jackie Dickey  two brothers; two sisters.

Corina is survived by a daughter, Brenda Wilson; son, David (Shala) Hughes; seven grandchildren: Selena Cleveland, Nicole Lowery,  Jackie Jay Dickey, Jeff Dickey, John Robert Hughes, Tyler Hughes and Ben Nelson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 11:00 am at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Bro. Joey Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
