Daniel Don Countiss, 86, passed away on March 3, 2024, at The Pinnacle in Oxford, MS.
Don was born on June 17, 1937, to the late Daniel Dewitt and Margaret Abbigail Coston Countiss in Bruce, MS.
He worked at Ferguson Sawmill until his retirement. He was a member of the Bruce United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sports especially Ole Miss, the Atlanta Braves, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He also liked to watch TV, but his greatest pride was for his family and most importantly his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his son Daniel (Karen) Countiss, of Brandon, MS; his daughter Staci (Winnon) Clark, of Bruce, MS; grandchildren: Chase (Elizabeth) Clark, Cade Clark, Beatrice Countiss, and Olivia Countiss; great grandchildren: Daniel Warren Clark and Henry Mills Clark; sisters: Dott Edwards, of Jackson, MS, and Jimmie Dee Ferguson, of Bruce, MS.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jackie Blackwelder Countiss, and his parents Daniel and Margaret Countiss.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM at Memory Memorial Garden in Bruce, MS, with Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Serving at pallbearers will be: Alan Blackwelder, Cade Clark, Chase Clark, Michael Denley, Joel Edwards, Kennon Ferguson, Ronnie Ferguson, and Charlie Vanlandingham.
