Daniel Doc Shockley

Daniel "Doc" Ray Shockley, 66, of Pittsboro departed from this life on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born on August 14, 1956, in Lansing Michigan to the late William Earnest Shockley and Lillian Mertie Baker Shockley.

Doc served in the Army and the United States National Guard Afghanistan after retirement he loved to travel to the mountains, and in his spare time, he could be found hunting, fishing, or doing anything outdoors. Doc loved facebook, telling jokes, and his dog Deedee. Doc will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.

He leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence: wife, Elizabeth Gregory Shockley of Pittsboro; son, Jody (Ladonna) Burt of Bruce; daughter, Courtney Simpson of Wheaton, IL; two sisters: Sandra Hyden of Burleson, TX; Barbara Shockley (Michael) Peiffer of Plano, TX; four brothers: Patrick Shockley of Siearra Vista, AZ; James Shockley of League City, TX; Michael Shockley of Budd Lake, NJ; Scott Campbell of Calhoun City; seven grandchildren: Chloe Burt, Kaitlyn Burt, Cody Coston, Aubrey Lee, Braiden Lee, Zander Irwin, and Sarah Grace (Tristan) Griffin; two great-grandchildren: Easton Griffin and Westley Griffin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Earnest Shockley and Lillian Mertie Baker Shockley; three brothers: William Earnest Shockley, Leslie Shockley, and Mark Joseph Ellis; sister, Teresa Eliane Howarth; grandchild, Lakyn Burt.
