Darren Leon Collins

Darren Leon Collins, 48 of Deatsville, Alabama, formally of Bruce, Mississippi passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at his home.

Darren was born September 19, 1968 in Oxford, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Calhoun Academy and attended Mississippi State University.  He then graduated from Bolivar Aviation Flight School in Bolivar,TN.  He went on to become an Ag pilot owning his own business, DC Aerial Inc in Bruce, MS. Most recently, he was the Regional Compliance Manager for Diversified Crop Insurance Services, Inc .

He is survived by his wife Carla Rutledge Collins of Deatsville, Alabama.

His loving parents, Larry and Mam Collins of Bruce, MS and Pat and Jimmy Swink of Wetumpka, AL.

Brother, Jarrad Collins and nephew, Connor Collins of Tupelo, MS.

Sisters, Ashley Fincher (Cody) of Dallas, TX, Stephanie Key (Sean) of Wetumpka, AL.  Nieces and nephews, Kayley, Kade, Lilly, and John Ross Key of Wetumpka, AL.

He is also survived by step children, April Rodriguez (Luis), Ryan Russell, and Brandon Marchand all of Tampa, FL.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Bennett Chase Collins. Grandparents, Carl and Erma Jewel Collins and Vannie and Jimmy Anglin.

Pallbearers will be: Scott Collins, Cody Fincher, Sam Hamblin, Patrick Heath, Vinni Pacetti, Donald Pendergrast, Josh Stegall, and Chad Stewart.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Don Bryant, Jeff Bryant, Hal Clark, Billy D. Cook, Sonny Pryor, Bobby Stribbling, and Danny Turner.

The family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, Mississippi.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hamilton and Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Interment will be in Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, Mississippi.
