David Edward Baker

David Edward Baker, 55, of Houlka departed from this life on Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Chickasaw County. He was born on October 26, 1966, in Memphis, TN to the late Mike Edward Baker and Velma Ruth Voyles Baker.

David provided for his family by traveling the highways as a truck driver for RD Farms in Houlka. In his spare time, David could be found in the woods hunting. Although David has departed from our lives, his treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of his loved ones.

He leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence; wife, Donna "Kandy" Baker of Houlka; two sons: Dalton (Cheyenne) Baker of Pontotoc, MS; Devon (Lexi) Baker of Tupelo, MS; two sisters: Stephanie (Julio) Moreno of Orlando, FL; Cindy (Gary) Denley of Hernando, MS; two grandchildren: Nylin Baker and Paizlee Keenum Baker; a special friend, Robert Gulledge of Bruce, MS.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Mike Edward Baker and Velma Ruth Voyles Baker; a grandson, the late Haygan Rhodes Baker.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Vardaman. The funeral service celebrating his life will take place on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman with Bro. Keith Carter and Bro. Johnny Cherry officiating. Dalton Baker, Jonathan "Toon" Fuller, Robert Gulledge, Cody Hancock, Ryan "Juno" Jones, and Lee Melton will carry David to rest in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Bro. Dan Griffin, Terry "Tractor Driver" Holder, Casey Montgomery, Bud Moore, Chris Moore, and Andrew Rackley will serve as honorary pallbearers.
