Bruce – Deane Edward Rapp, 76, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024 in Bruce, MS.  Deane was born April 13, 1947 to Edward D and Ethel J Quick Rapp.  Ed was a Baptist minister and their family traveled across the United States many years as Ed helped establish many new churches.  When Deane was 13 the family moved to Collegeville, PA where they resided until Deane started college and later joined the US Navy.

Deane served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam & Cold War eras. He served on our nation’s Nuke Powered Fast Attack Submarines.  His love of our country was unwavering.

After Deane’s retirement he started a woodworking business in Dorchester, SC.  He later moved to Texas where he met his wife Jamie and together, they built a life and home that was filled with love, faith family, friends and four legged babies.  Jamie’s love of her “home” state of Mississippi introduced Deane to the beautiful countryside and they moved their family to Bruce in 2020.

Deane had the gift of gab and once you started a conversation with him his engagement and often passion for whatever the subject was became evident to whomever he was speaking with.

He was a master woodworker, enjoyed milling logs and making many projects for Jamie and others.

Deane and Jamie worshiped at the Old Field Methodist Church in Bruce, MS finding their church home on Christmas day 2022,

He is survived by his wife Jamie Ann, children Jessica (Tim) McCreary, Alexandra (Nick) Carter.  Grand-children Zachary (Melanie) McCreary, Jovana McCreary, Paris Carter, Audrey Carter.  Great-grandchild Emma McCreary.
