Dennis Alan Simpson, who departed this life on April 20, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on June 9, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, Dennis spent much of his life in Calhoun City, Mississippi, where he established roots and formed meaningful connections in the community.
Dennis was a proud graduate of Calhoun City High School, Class of 1979, and went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Northwest Community College. He became known as the owner of Southwest Designs Furniture, where he dedicated many years to his passion for craftsmanship and customer service.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dennis was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Yolanda Simpson. He took great pride in his family, which includes his daughter, Chasity McVey of Calhoun City, MS; sons, Corey Simpson of Calhoun City, MS, Michael Hatfield of Dennis, MS, and Brandon McVey of Tishomingo, MS; brother, Jerry (Debby) Simpson of Kalispell, MT; grandchild, Rylan Hatfield of Dennis, MS; and nieces, Lindsey (Josh) Clark of Kalispell, MT, and Courtney (Jeremy) Davis of NC. Along with great nieces and nephews, Owen and Benton Clark and Aubrie and Blake Davis.
An avid outdoorsman, Dennis enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping, and collecting arrowheads. He was a member of Grace Church in Calhoun City, MS.
A public viewing will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Grace Church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Dennis will be laid to rest at New Gauley Cemetery in Calhoun City, MS.
Serving as pallbearers are Mike Denley, Eddie Wayne Goodson, Wayne Harris, Mike Russell, DJ Scott, and Kenny White.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, George Edward Simpson; mother, Frances Burks Simpson; and sister, Denise Simpson.
The staff of Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the Simpson family as they walk through this season of loss. We ask that you keep them, in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn the passing of their loved one.
