Shirley Dianne Luther, 74, of Houlka departed for her home in Glory on July 9, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was welcomed into the world on a nippy winter's day of January 17, 1947 by her late parents, Loyce Steele Jr. and Mary Kate Hinton Steele.
Dianne spent many blessed days of her life, with a smile upon her face, looking after the shoppers of Houlka Supermarket. She also faithfully served as the treasurer of Cooke Memorial Baptist Church for many years. Aside from her work life, Dianne spent her spare time practicing her expansive list of hobbies. She could often be found striking out on a road trip or passing time with a shopping adventure. When she preferred a more leisurely kind of day, she tuned into the Hallmark channel. Dianne cherished her family, & she adored time spent with them ranging from family meals every Sunday and Wednesday to caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren in her spotless home. Having an active relationship with the Lord, Dianne never let her Bible collect dust nor let a day go by without spending time in prayer. Her greatest prayer was "that others would see Jesus living in her & that she might be a blessing to someone every single day." Though she has gone to rest in a sacred place free from sickness, Dianne will be profoundly missed by her loving family and friends.
Those left to carry her memory include: son, Michael (Tabitha) Luther of Pontotoc; daughter, Michelle Moody of Houlka; five grandchildren: Brett Hood; Nikki (Matt) Huberty; Shelby (Brandon) Thompson; Marley (Forrest) Kendall; Katie Ruth Luther; two great grandchildren: Alla James & Steelie Claire Kendall; one sister, Darlene (Brad) Tinsman; one nephew, Matthew (Kathy) Crossno, and a great niece, Kinley Crossno..
She is also welcomed to her Heavenly Home by her husband of 49 years, Jimmy Luther.
The graveside service remembering Dianne's life will take place on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 4:00 PM in Cooke Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Cobb & Bro. Junior Ritchie officiating.
The staff of Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the family as they begin this new season of life. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of their loved one
