Listen to Obituary

Donna Lynn Orr passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on November 1, 1960, in Rochester, New York, to William George Sager and Suzanne Smith Sager. Donna enjoyed growing up along the picturesque shores of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region in upstate New York.

A graduate of Trumansburg Central High School in 1978, Donna would later find the love of her life, Danny Orr, whom she married in 2019. Donna dedicated her life to her family, and her heart grew with pride as she celebrated the accomplishments of her children.

Donna was a remarkable servant of Christ. After giving her heart to Him 23 years ago, she made it her mission to share His love with everyone she met, often approaching strangers in the grocery store to ask if they knew who Jesus was. Her passion for faith extended to her life at Adonai Church in Water Valley, Mississippi, where she helped manage food services and taught Sunday School, all while building lasting friendships within the church community.

A self-taught cook and baker, Donna found delight in cooking for her family and friends. Her culinary talents were showcased at various local establishments, including Phillips Grocery, Emileigh's Bakery, South Panola School District, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, and Taylor Grocery and Catering where she developed a reputation for her kindness as much as her cooking skills. Those who knew Donna would often recount her well-loved phrase: "Just pay it forward to the next person, I don't want that," reflecting her selflessness and generosity.

Donna leaves behind husband, Danny Orr, daughter, Rachel (Pete) Waller, son, Raleigh (Kamie) Sprouse, all of Oxford, MS and two step-daughters: Jessica and Anna Orr of Bruce, MS, siblings: Janet Sager (Mike) of Sacramento, CA, Ted Friel of Delta, PA, Susan Cole ( Jim) of Syracuse, NY, and Helen Orlando of Canadaigua, NY, grandchildren: Athea, Killian, Russ, Luke, Ruben, Tyler, Kelsey, Noah, and Thorin, along with great-grandchildren Addie, Kayson, and Waylon all of whom brought her immeasurable joy.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, William George Sager and Suzanne Smith Sager, brother, James Sager, and step-son, Dillon Orr.

Donna did not wish for tears of sorrow at her passing. Instead, she wanted to be remembered for the extraordinary woman she was-a devoted follower of Christ and a beacon of light in her community.

In honor of her life, a memorial service will be held at Adonai Church in Water Valley, Mississippi, on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Donna's legacy, share stories, and reflect on the love she so freely gave.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord; Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Parker Memorial is honored to be of service to the Orr family during this difficult time.
