Dora Ann Melton Newman, age 67, of Sarepta, MS, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Trace Regional Hospital in Houston, MS.
She was born on April 16, 1946 in Vardaman, MS.

She was Retired from Glenn Slacks Garment Factory and was a member of Sarepta Baptist Church.

She was preceded in Death by Her Parents: Johnny William Melton and Dora Hardin Melton, Two Sisters: Etoyle Mason and Imogene Ward, Two Brothers: Charles and Jimmy Melton, and One Grandchild: Kristen Nicole Hood.

She is survived by her husband: Eugene Newman of Sarepta, MS, One Daughter: Donna Michelle Brooks (Greg Hester), of Nettleton, MS, Two Sons: Junior Dewayne Hood (Debra) of Ecru, MS and Benny Wayne Hood (Sandi) of Oakland, TN, Three Sisters: Sally Franklin of Toccopola, MS, Tott Edmondson of Vardaman, MS and Betty Fleming,
Derma, MS and Seven Grandchildren: Ariah Eve Hood, April Camille Haley (Robert), Christopher Patrick Jones, Benjamin Hood,
T. J. Hood, Tyler Hood,
Tiffany Michelle Brooks, and
Three Great-Grand Children.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 14, 2014, with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Interment
will be at Sarepta Cemetery in Sarepta, MS.
