Mrs. Beckett was born December 21, 1938, to the late Robert and Jannie Vanlandingham Freely in Vardaman, MS. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. During her time spent here on Earth, she poured her life into being a devoted pastor’s wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, and Sunday School teacher, serving the Lord in any way she could. We will miss her gentle sweet spirit and sense of humor. We will miss her greatly, but we rest in the comfort of knowing we will be united again one day. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beckett is preceded in death by her brothers-Bobby Freely and Danny Freely; and her son-in-law-James Ghaffari.

Mrs. Beckett is survived by her husband-Bro. Billy Joe Beckett, Columbus, MS; sons-Tim (Cherell) Beckett and Joe Beckett, both of Columbus, MS; daughter-Janie Ghaffari, Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren-Cade Ghaffari, Jessica Ghaffari, Parker Ghaffari, Summer Ghaffari, Alex Beckett, Jessica (Jay) Grisham, and Anna Katherine Beckett; great grandchildren-Freely Grace Grisham, Justice Grisham, Daily Grisham, and Walker Grisham; and sister-in-law-Pat Freely.

Pallbearers will be Alex Beckett, Jay Grisham, Parker Ghaffari, Cade Ghaffari, Donald Freely, and Scott Freely.
