Douglas Ray Ruth

Douglas Ray Ruth, 74, of Calhoun City passed from this life on July 11, 2021 at his home. He was born on November 29, 1946 in Calhoun City to the late Wesley Bennett Ruth and Thelma Bramlett Ruth.

Doug was a simple man that knew the value of hard work; this attribute was evidenced by his career with Willis Engineering that spanned over forty eight years. Aside from his work life he could be found using his green thumb to cultivate a sizable garden of extensive variety. He also enjoyed spending time in the heat of the summer dove hunting. Although Doug has departed from our lives, his treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of his loved ones.

Those left to continue walking down the path of life in his absence include; two sons: Tony (Kimberly) Ruth of Calhoun City; Donnie (Michelle) Ruth of Calhoun City; two daughters: Jean Ann (Porter) Casey of Vardaman; Deidre Adams of Bruce; nine grandchildren: Kent Casey, Wesley Casey, Caroline Casey, Jacob Ruth, Sarah Grace Ruth, Brandon Ruth, Mollie Beth Ruth, Braidyn Johnson, and Linley Snider; one great grandchild, Tinsley Kay Ruth.

Doug is preceded in death by his wife, Liz Lemley Ruth; parents, Wesley Bennett Ruth and Thelma Bramlett Ruth; one sister, Patricia Ruth Turner.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 14, 2021 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The funeral service remembering Doug's life will take place on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce with Bro. Scott Wright officiating. Barry Cannon, Kent Casey, Wesley Casey, John Harrison, David Lemley, Brandon Ruth, and Jacob Ruth will carry Doug to rest in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
