Doyle Lee Free

Doyle Lee Free, 85, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 17, 2025, after a brief illness.  He was born on February 4, 1940, in Bruce, MS to the late Edward Free and Naomi Parker Free.

Doyle had previously worked at Shannon Chair prior to retirement.  He loved spending time with his family and talking about the Good Ole Days. His love and treasure were his family and friends.  Doyle loved a good Western movie or series to watch on TV and he also loved to collect knives to show and share with others in the family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Free and Naomi Parker Free, his beloved wife Juanita Ables Free, a daughter Carol Free Smitherman, and a grandson Jason Free.

Those left to cherish his memory are a daughter Donna Free, of Vardaman, MS; sons Wayne (Lisa) Free, of  Vardaman, MS;  Stacy (Connie) Free, of Vardaman, MS; Mark (Shelby) Free, of Philadelphia, MS; and Jeremy Matthew  (Cassie) Free, of Vardaman, MS.  His beloved grandchildren: Shae Bishop, Jonathan Free, J. R. Free, Page Sweet, Abby Hobson, Christina Strickland, Brooklyn Haynes, Chance Tharp, Colby Free, Kimberly Haynes, Brandi Free, Dawson Dove, Emily Free, Chloe Gore and Ava Free; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation for Doyle will be Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. The funeral service will also be Tuesday, May 20, 2025, beginning at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman, MS with Dr. Tim Cook Officiating. The burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the Vardaman Fire Department. Evan McVay, Josh Sweet and Chance Tharp will serve as honorary pallbearers.
