Dwain Ward, 90, of Bruce passed from this life on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on August 19, 1931, in Algoma, he was a son to the late George Eddie Ward and Nona Pearl Stewart Ward.
Dwain spent many decades married to his loving wife Ruby Jean Harris Ward until her passing in 2014. The couple made countless memories walking along the pathway of life. As a blue-collar man, he provided for his family working at several different factories through the years such as Glenn Slacks, DSL, and Davis Wood Products. When Dwain’s nose was not to the grindstone you could find him tending to his cattle and hogs or hunting rabbits. Dwain attended Antioch Baptist Church where he learned about the many wonders of the Lord.
Dwain leaves behind an expansive family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence three sons: Harold (Pam) Ward of Bruce, MS; Billy Ward of Bruce, MS; and Bobby (Maria Virginia) Ward of Clarksville, TN; seven grandchildren: Colton Ward, Bobby Ward Jr., Brian Ward, Corey Ward, Jared Ward, Mallory Ward, and Joshua Ward; ten great-grandchildren; and one brother Dr. A. H. Ward (Linda Ann) of Pittsboro, MS.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jean Harris Ward; two daughters Barbara Jeanell Brasher and Linda Diane Ward; parents George Eddie Ward and Nona Pearl Stewart Ward; two sisters: Mabel Ward and Willie Faye Walker.
