Edmond (Eddie) Bailey

Edmond Rance Bailey, Jr. 75, of Vardaman cast his line toward the shores of eternity on November 16, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden- Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi. Born on April 10, 1945, in Washington, D.C., Edmond Rance Bailey Jr, was a son to the late Edmond Rance Bailey Sr. and Evelyn Lucille Harrell Bailey.

Edmond, known by his friends as Eddie, was a 1963 graduate of Vardaman High School. As a member of the silent generation, Eddie understood the value of hard work. He spent many laborious seasons of his life turning the soil and cultivating crops as a farmer. When Eddie wasn't guiding his tractor through a field, he could be found using his green thumb to produce tomato plants of exceptional quality. While growing things was synonymous with the name Eddie Bailey, this fun-loving farmer found joy in fishing, especially in the deep salty waters of the ocean. Eddie lived life to the fullest, the proof lies within the laughter and memories, from raising fawns and coyote pups to giving anybody in need the shirt off his back. His larger than life personality will be greatly missed as those he loved continue to walk the path of life holding only his memory.

Eddie leaves behind an expansive family; wife, Brenda Bailey; three sons: Trae (Sarah) Bailey; Josh Bailey, Jason (Laurie) Bailey; one daughter, Rowanna Bailey;one sister, Reita (David) Green; three grandchildren: Lilli Bailey, Brewer Bailey, and Bella Bailey.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Rance Bailey Sr. and Evelyn Lucille Harrell Bailey; one sister, Evelyn Lucille Brown.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Bailey Memorial United Methodist Church from 12:00PM- 2:00PM. The funeral service remembering Eddie's life will take place on Friday, November 20. 2020 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Bailey Memorial United Methodist Church with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander and Bro. Corey Collins officiating. Trae Bailey, Josh Bailey, Jason Bailey, Cole Brown, Dan Brown and David Green will serve as pallbearers with David Woods and Tom Bailey serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Eddie will be laid to rest in Bailey Memorial Cemetery.
