Edward Earl Mayhan, entered into the presence of The Lord Sunday, November 16, 2014. He was born in Calhoun
County, MS October 16, 1940 to Wiley Edward Mayhan and Allie Mae McCombs Mayhan. He was a retired truck
driver for Kellwood Company, Cooper Freight and Calhoun County.
He was a 1960 graduate of Bruce High School. He was the head chef of the Green Apron Cooking Team. He was
also a member of the Calhoun Advengers Chapter of the Sons of the Confederacy and a member of Westside
Baptist Church.
Earl is survived by his wife of 51 years Janice Alexander Mayhan of Derma; a son Paul Mayhan (Jennifer) of Fort
Worth, Texas; a granddaughter Charissa Helen Mayhan of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister Becky Mitchell (Jerry) of
Bruce; and two brothers Luke Mayhan (Janette) of Bruce and Johnny Mayhan (Bea) of Memphis, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce,
MS.
Service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with Bro.
Reece Ward assisted by Bro. Robert Earl Alexander and Bro. David Poynor officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest
Cemetery, Pittsboro, MS.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers: Mose Gore, Bryan Maddox, Walt Maddox, Wiley Maddox, James Mayhan,
Wayne Mayhan, Max Nichols, Avery Ruth and Tim Ruth.
Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Buchanan, Joe Carnaggio, Lynn Casey, Carl Booth Denton, Elbie Wayne
Dickerson, Phillip Fleming, Dwayne Gordon, Kenny Lee, Homer Logan, Bill Lord, Quintin Mayhan, Ricky Mayhan,
Timmy Mayhan, Thomas McCammon, E.L. (Bunky) McCormick, Dennis Mickey, Dee Sprayberry, Willie Jobe West,
Sam Wiggs and William Price Wright.
