E.L. Bunky Mccormick

E. L. "Bunky" McCormick, 86, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford, MS on May 16, 2021.

Bunky was born in Bruce, MS on April 29, 1935, the son of the late Ira and Euris Tutor McCormick. He was a self made man, over the years he owned McCormick Service Station, McCormick Farm Supply, farmed with his sons for over twenty years, and worked with his good friend Bill Morris in the wood working business. His love for gardening found him growing watermelons for his family and community. He served the Lord as a deacon at Rocky Branch Baptist Church and later Westside Baptist Church. He continued his love for the Lord through his dedication and love for the yearly Mexico Mission Trips that began in the 1970's and lasted until 2010.

Bunky is survived by his wife of 69 years Louise Smith McCormick; three daughters: Sherry McCormick Reinhardt, of Jacksonville, FL; Melinda (Terry) McKibben, of Prattville. AL; and Leigh Ann (Brian) Wells, of Starkville, MS; three sons: Scotty (Jan) McCormick, of Grenada, MS; Gary (Ollie) McCormick, of Bonneville, MS; and Kevin (Jennifer) McCormick of Pontotoc, MS; grandchildren: Chris (Jamie) McCormick, Jason (Autumn) McCormick, Don (Anna) McCormick, Kerry (Steve) Baker, Jeremy McCormick, Kimberly Alldread, Emily (Chris) Peters, Jessica McKibben, Taylor McKibben, Callie Wells, Neely Wells, Hardy McCormick, Taylor (Ashelin) Terry, Jacob Terry, and Anna Terry; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sister Bobbie Frizzell Watkins; brothers: J.M. "Jam Up" McCormick; and J.D. "Peanut" McCormick.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ira and Euris McCormick; sisters: Dot Harville and Idell York; brothers: Melvis McCormick; Ottis McCormick; and Clovis McCormick.

Visitation for Bunky will be Monday, May 17, 2021, at 12:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The memorial service will be at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce, MS on Monday, May, 17, 2021, at 2:00 PM with Bro. John Stewart and Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Chris McCormick, Don McCormick, Hardy McCormick, Jason McCormick, Jeremy McCormick, Taylor McKibben, and Taylor Terry.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Larry Collins, Joe Cowsert, Scott Ledbetter, Luke Mayhan, Bill Morris, Billy Poynor,and Ellis Reeder.
