Elsie Hall Mize,98, of Bruce departed from this life on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Bruce Community Living Center. Born on December 10, 1923, in Bruce she was a daughter to the late Robert L Hall and Birdie Mae Lee Hall.
Elsie, a lifelong native of Bruce, spent her days as a devoted homemaker looking after her family with a loving spirit and a giving heart. She used that loving spirit to help busy parents by babysitting children. Prior to becoming a homemaker, she wore many different career hats from working in the garment industry at Kellwood and Glenn Slacks all the way to tending to the customers for the E.L Bruce Company Store. When Elsie found the time to relax you could find her tending her beloved garden. Before her health declined, she was actively involved in the body of believers found at Antioch Baptist Church. Although Elsie has departed from our presence, she has gone to rest in a place free of sickness and the pains of age.
Elsie leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence; one son, Larry (Barbara) Mize of Starkville; one daughter, Patricia Mize (Joe Ables Jr) of Bruce; one brother, Billy Clay (Lou) Hall of Bruce; sister in law, Grace Hall of Bruce; four grandchildren: Ronnie (Amber) Mize; Melissa (Billy)Franklin; Eric (Robin) Carr; Chris Mize; eight great grandchildren; her special extended family included; Orville (Kim) Carr; Dustin (Rebekah) Carr; Christopher (Christy) Scribner; Alex (Kayla) Hall; Jonathan (Kelly) Hall; Mary Catherine Hall; six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezzie Lee “Slick” Mize; son, Tommy Lee Mize; parents, Robert L Hall and Birdie Mae Lee Hall; one brother, Bobby Hall; three sisters: Laudis Roane; Inis Roane; Cuvis Tyler
