Mrs. Eppie Lou “Cindy” Sims, 80, passed from this life on July 30, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford after a sudden illness. She was born on December 7, 1938 to the late Luther and Mildred Shields Bratton.
Cindy was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church where she could be found making joyful noise to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Cindy was a retired administrative assistant, and restaurant manager. She loved cooking, and more importantly sharing her culinary skills with others. When Cindy wasn’t cooking, she could be found sewing or lounging with her cat Bubba gazing at hummingbirds.
She leaves behind her step daughter Janet Gregg Fortenbery; Two Grandchildren, Ashton (Lori) Lemley, and Fantasy (Benji) Vance; Four Great Grandchildren, Faith Vance, Grace Vance, Hana Lemley, and Tanner Vance; Special Cousins, Hilda (Daniel) Gregory, Roger (Jeannie) Shields, Geraldine Clark.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Luther and Mildred Shields Bratton, and husband Eath Sims.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday August 2, 2019 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce with a visitation two hours prior to the service. Bro. Jimmy Vance will be officiating the funeral service. Interment will be at Antioch Cemetery in Bruce, Ms. Pallbearers will be Ashton Lemley, Gregory Schmitz, Jackson Schmitz, Jacob Gregory, Samuel Schmitz, and Tanner Vance.
