Erma Faye Shankle

Erma Faye Owens Shankle, 79, passed away on March 16, 2024, at her home in Duncan Hill Community.

Erma was born on October 20, 1944, in the New Liberty Community to the late Lee Ander Owens and Rosie Idell Tallent Owens.  She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Calhoun City.

Erma is survived by her sons: David Harold (Brenda) Shankle, Jr., of Derma, MS, Barry Scott (Tammie) Shankle, Sr., of Derma, MS, and Stacey Lynn Shankle, of Jackson, MS sisters Vannie Rhea Parker, of Calhoun City, MS, and  Betty Jean (Jerry) Haimes, of Houston, MS; grandchildren: Destin Blair McKelroy, of Oxford, MS, Laken Lynn (Bryce) Keylon, of Huntsville, AL, McKarley Karrigan (Jacob) Norwood, of Oxford, MS, and Barry Scott (Abbie) Shankle, Jr., of Banner, MS; Great-grandchildren: Jett Shankle, Jedd Shankle, Jovi Shankle, and Genesis "Gensi" Norwood; and fiancé Ruben Blansett of London, KY.

Erma is preceded in death by her husband David Harold Shankle, Sr.; her parents Lee and Rosie Owens; brothers: George Washington Owens, James Williams Owens, Willie Lee Owens, and Sherman Ray Owens.

Visitation for Erma Shankle will be Monday, March 18, 2024, from 11:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM at Taylor Church of God of Prophecy in Vardaman.  The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM with Bro. Jon Haimes officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be: David Harold Shankle, Jr, Barry Scott Shankle, Sr, Stacey Lynn Shankle, Barry Scott Shankle, Jr, Jacob Norwood, Bryce Keylon, Tony Owens, Tim Parker, R.J. Rivera, and Darrell Hudson
