Eugene Carpenter, 95 of Aiken, South Carolina died on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Hitchcock House Assisted Living Facility in Aiken, South Carolina. Born Friday, April 4, 1919 in Julian, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William Carpenter and the late Eva Mae Tyler Carpenter. He was the husband of the late Mable Carpenter. He was as a retired CMSGT in the Air Force for 30 years Survived by: Daughter and Son-in Law: Carol L. and John E. ""Jack" McElwee (Aiken SC) and Son: Roger C. Carpenter and wife Julia A. Carpenter Grandchildren and great grandchildren: Erik and Jennifer Hernandez and their children Evan, Alex and Adam (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) Dennis and Shalom Hernandez and their children Amy and Ashby (Greensboro, NC) Lyndsi and Kevin Donahue and their children Nash, Dax and Avynlee Rae (Corpus Christi, TX) Paul McElwee and Megan Wardlaw (Denton, TX)David Murr and wife Misty and their children Misty, Shaina, Anna and Tina. Grandchild Suzanne R. Carpenter And children Allison Bowyer, Valerie J Lacey, and Danica Lacey. Dear Friends: Claire McElwee (Aiken, SC) Carolyn, Bill and Charley Davis (Vardaman, MS) Rebecca Hardin, Henry Lee, Linda Taylor and Families. He was preceded in death by brother, Truman Carpenter. A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday at Elzey Memorial Chapel with the Bro. Billy McCord officiating. Interment and Military Honors will be in Elzey Cemetery, Vardaman, MS. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, Vardaman, Mississippi.
