Evelyn Davidson Weeks

Evelyn Davidson Weeks, 86, strolled peacefully into Heaven on May 30, 2019 at Baptist Calhoun Nursing Home in Calhoun City. She was born August 25, 1932 in Calhoun County to the late Brady L. Davidson and Jessie Hughes Davidson.

Evelyn was an expert seamstress by trade and blessed the Glenn Slacks Garment Plant with her employment for many years. Upon retirement Ms.Weeks found the time to cultivate an endless garden so she could can her myriad of a harvest, and provide those close to her with a delicious homegrown meal for days to come. She couldn’t let her sewing skills go to waste so she kept practice making intricate quilts, and unique crocheted creations . Evelyn was a very active lady and evidenced this by her support to the Homemakers club, and her devotion to Mt.Moriah Baptist Church.

Evelyn leaves behind her daughter June Sexton of Bruce; One Grandson, Cary Sexton and special friend Courtney Justice of Deep Run, North Carolina; One Brother, James Davidson of Bruce; Two Granddaughters, Carli Bryant (Joel) of Houston, Texas; Christina Hardin and special friend Rodney Shepherd of Bruce; Eight Great Grandchildren, Justin Ashmore, Ava Bryant, Levi Bryant, Hannah Knox, Shelby Whitten, Brady Sexton, Cara Lee Sexton, and Gavin Sexton.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Walter Wade Weeks; her parents, Brady L. Davidson and Jessie Hughes Davidson.

The family will receive friends on Friday June 7 , 2019 from 5:00P.M - 8:00P.M at Parker Memorial Funeral in Bruce. In addition to the visitation a funeral service rembering Evelyn’s life will be held on Saturday June 8, 2019 beginning 10:00 A.M at Mt.Moriah Baptist Church. Bro.Joey Hamilton will be leading the funeral service with assistance from Bro.Robert Earl Alexander, and Bro. Wayne Cobb. Upon conclusion of the service Ms.Weeks will be laid to rest in the Mt.Moriah Cemetery; Michael Brown, Joel Bryant, Joe Farmer, Rodney Shepherd, Rickey Joe White, Trey Whitten, will serve as pallbearers.
