Frances Elouise Simpson

Elouise Simpson, 85, departed from this life on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at her home in Calhoun City, MS. She was born on August 15, 1937 in Crowder, MS to the late B.C. Allen and Adele Robins Allen.

Elouise spent many seasons of her life working as a LPN until her retirement. After retiring Elouise could be found in the kitchen cooking or reading a book. She was a member of New Gauley Freewill Baptist Church. Although Elouise has departed from our lives, her treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of her friends and loved ones.

She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence: two sons: Jerry (Debby) Simpson of Montana; Dennis (Yolanda) Simpson of Calhoun City; sister, Betty (Marvis) Goodson of Calhoun City; six grandchildren: Lindsey (Josh) Clark, Courtney (Jeremy) Davis, Michael Hatfield, Brandon McVey, Chasity McVey, and Corey Simpson; four great-grandchildren: Benton Clark, Owen Clark, Aubrie Davis, and Blake Davis.

Elouise is preceded in death by her parents, B.C. Allen and Adele Robins Allen; husband, Edward Thornton; daughter, Denise Simpson; four brothers: Billy Burks, Bobby Burks, Clinton Burks, and M.T. Burks; two sisters: Margie Smith and Vivian Wimberly.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 26, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Grace Fellowship Church. The funeral service honoring Elouise's life will take place on Monday, December 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Grace Fellowship Church with Bro. Ronnie Scott officiating. Khris Faulkner, Dylan Goodson, Michael Hatfield, Randy Hoop, Brandon McVey, and DJ Scott will carry Elouise to rest in New Gauley Cemetery.
