Frank Cowsert 88 died November 7, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Calhoun City, MS. He was born January 18, 1931 to Luther and Maudie Hardin Cowsert. He was a self made man who made a career of trading horses and cattle. His passion was training and showing horses. He was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He also had a love for row cropping. Mr. Frank was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
He had many titles, but his favorite was Papaw. He would light up when telling stories about his two granddaughters and six great grandchildren.
He is survived by faithful companion Peggy Bailey, one son Joe (Carol) Cowsert, granddaughters, Amy Easley (Justin Irwin), Emily Weeks (Cody), and great grandchildren, Payton Easley, Jakob Gregory, Presley Easley, Kaylee Jo Baker, CJ Weeks, and Carter Cash Weeks. Special friends, Janna Brown, and Kerry James McGreger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Parker Cowsert. Brothers, James Cowsert and Caroll Dean Cowsert; sister, Dorothy Ledbetter.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 8, 2019 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2019, with Bro. Jerry Smith and Bro. Eric Payne officiating. Interment will be in Antioch cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Brown, Mike Cowsert, Rob Easley, Jacob Gregory, Justin Irwin, Phil Ledbetter, Scott Ledbetter and Cody Weeks. Those to serve as honorary pallbearers will be, Paul Babb, Phillip Goodson, Gary Ledbetter, Carl Massey, Gary Massey, and Larry Dean Massey.
