Fred Harold Murphree, Born December 3, 1936. Passed away after a long illness, March 31, 2019 at Baptist Calhoun Nursing Home. He was 82.
Dewey Murphree his brother, Dorothy Johnson, and Betty Watson, was at his bedside. Fred was the son of Edgar Murphree and Virgie Adams Murphree. Also preceded by a daughter, Patricia Ann Murphree.
He spent his earlier childhood with his sister in Memphis. He worked for Western Union and Memphis Blue Print Co., he helped print out the plans of St. Jude Hospital. He then enlisted in the Air Force and after returned to Bruce, he became a fulltime carpenter. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
He leaves a sister, Dorothy Johnson of Memphis, TN, a brother, Dewey Murphree and sister-in-law, Garneita Murphree of Bruce, he also leaves nieces, Bobbie Bingham, of Houston, Texas, Betty Watson, of Olive Branch, Miss. Kay McElhaney of Senatobia, Miss and a nephew Kenny Murphree of Mountainview, Ark, and many nieces and nephews. Lots of friends in Bruce, and the coffee shop.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday April 2, 2019 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Drennon Adams, Zack Buchanan, Jeff Burks, Wayne Presnell, William Smithson, and Austin Whitley.
Appreciation to his Dr. Doctor Longest and the staff at Baptist Calhoun Nursing Home, that took excellent care of him while he was there.
